The BioComp Group is currently recruiting motivated graduate students interested in pursuing PhD study in computational/applied mathematics, scientific machine learning, and biomedical computation.
Our research includes the following topics:
(a) Multiscale biological modeling and simulation.
(b) Scientific machine learning, physics-informed learning, and data-driven modeling.
(c) Blood flow, red blood cell biomechanics, and cellular dynamics in health and disease.
(d) Computational methods for biomedical systems and predictive modeling.
Prospective students are encouraged to read our recent publications to determine whether their interests align with the group’s research directions.
Due to the interdisciplinary nature of our research, we welcome outstanding students from diverse backgrounds, including applied mathematics, computational science, fluid mechanics, physics, computer science, biomedical engineering, and related disciplines. Applicants should have strong quantitative, computational, and programming skills. Prior experience in numerical methods, scientific machine learning, high-performance computing, or biomedical modeling is a plus, but not required.
To apply or inquire, please contact Guansheng Li at guansheng_li@brown.edu with your CV, transcripts, and a brief description of your research interests and background.
